Sham Sharqawe is a visual artist and designer

Born in Palestine and relocated to the United States at eighteen, Sham works primarily with sumi ink on paper, creating abstract pieces that explore displacement, identity, and emotional landscapes. Her practice draws from Japanese ink painting traditions while incorporating Arabic text, examining what exists in the spaces between languages—what gets lost, what stays incomplete, what can only be felt.

Her recent collection, "Unwanted Thoughts," explores the intrusive, honest thoughts that shape us when no one is watching. She is also developing her web design practice, bringing the same minimalist sensibility to digital experiences.

Self-taught in both art and design, Sham continues to build her practice one deliberate mark at a time.
