unwanted thoughts

This collection emerged during a period of heartbreak and isolation, a time when certain thoughts arrived uninvited and refused to leave. Working with sumi ink on paper, I gave these thoughts form.

The process is unforgiving: each mark is irreversible. Once ink touches paper, there's no erasing, no covering up. This constraint mirrors the thoughts themselves. You can't unsee them, you can't take them back. You only choose whether to acknowledge them.

My work draws from both Arabic calligraphic traditions and Japanese ink painting. The visual language moves between cultures, between what can be written and what can only be felt.

These aren't polished narratives or resolved stories. They're moments: the intrusive thoughts, the irrational ones, the painfully honest ones we try to push away but that shape who we become.

This collection isn't about healing or closure. It's about making visible what usually stays hidden.
